We got back a week or so ago from our big acquisition trip to California. We went to find a new wholesaler for the store because our New York City connection is just too far away. We also went to check out the Rose Bowl flea market. It was completely insane!

While we were there Liz got stopped by an ELLE Magazine online photographer that was featuring different girls at the flea market. Click on the following photo to check out the little feature on Liz. COOL!

16 outstanding pieces from the very talented Allan Ludwig will show at coal umbrella from 6 June - 1 July. Opening reception will coincide with the Downtown Provo Gallery Stroll, which is this Friday, June 6th from 6-11PM

A Skin, A Night is a film by Vincent Moon about the recording of The National’s album “Boxer”. The screening will be at Velour Live Music Gallery on May 30th at 8pm. Admission is free.

Coal Umbrella will be doing a drawing for a The National 7″ vinyl record. Beggars Banquet also sent us an advance copy of Shearwater’s forthcoming record “Rook”. We’re going to listen to it after the conclusion of the film.

Beggars Banquet Records contacted the Sego Film Society about the possibly of doing this screening for The National’s new film “A Skin, A Night” because of the success of the screening we put together for Sigur Ros “Heima”. The “Heima” screening was one of the most successful in the U.S. The Sego Film Society plans to do something like this once a month at Velour. Look FORWARD to THAT. segoarts.org

1. Nate Ashby’s art show “ABELICIOUS” opens tonight at COAL UMBRELLA. It starts at 6pm, along with the rest of the DOWNTOWN PROVO GALLERY STROLL. This radical show features 12+ demented & amazing folk art pieces of MR. COPPER PENNY HIMSELF!

2. SEGO ART CENTER is opening on our block (at 169 n) tonight with a group show titled “GENESIS”. This show might blow up minds.

3. We just put out nearly 200 hand picked pieces on the floor! There are many AND many (many) fantastic and “kewt” girls and guys spring/summer vintage pieces to CHECK OUT!
